We are a young organization which started back in 2007 as a Development, Research- Advocacy Project (DevRAP) , with the purpose of assisting forced migrants with access to higher learning education and training institutions (application, registration, bursaries processes), access to health care services (advocacy, interpretation services) and psychosocial services (seminars and trainings, health education programs, referrals to relevant service provisions) to navigate the complexities facing them in their host country.
Following changes in the humanitarian spaces and systems in the host country, the Non-profit organizations’ registration processes, in 2021, we changed the name to URBAN REFUGEES & ASYLUM SEEKERS ASSISTANCE (URASA). The change was dictated by the type of services that we provided during COVID-19 and the high number of beneficiaries whose majority was people of forced displacement background.
